Increasingly, lawyer civility and congeniality is becoming a thing of the past. Yet, it doesn't have to be that way. Civil litigation need not lead to an all-out civil war. As legal professionals, lawyers have an obligation to act that way - professionally. This humerous presentation will remind you that zealous advocacy does not require you to be a zealot. It's possible to be courteous, kind, accommodating and effective. In fact, for the continued well being of the profession (and yourself), it's necessary.

Contrary to popular opinion, legal ethics is not an oxymoron. There are very basic things that lawyers must do (and not do) to avoid disciplinary problems. In this presentation, Mr. Carter delivers a "sermon" on the Ten Commandments for Avoiding Ethical Problems as a Lawyer. At the end of the sermon, your attorneys will be shouting "hallelujah", "amen", and (hopefully) passing around the collection plate.

Substance abuse is a huge problem in the legal profession. Lawyers suffer among the highest rates of alcoholism, drug addiction and the single highest rate of being shot in the face by the Vice President. While we can't do much about Cheney's aim, this presentation will show your lawyers how to detect, treat and prevent substance abuse in their law firm.

The program is designed so that several attendees can listen to the program in a common listening area, such as a conference room (you only pay for attorneys that participate).
