The Supreme Court 2007-2008 Term: Lethal Injection, Gun Control and Detainees… Oh My! |
In this presentation, Mr. Carter humorously recaps the most significant cases decided by the high court during its most recent term - the 2007-2008 term. This term, the justices came down with landmark rulings in cases involving detainees, gun control, voter identification laws, lethal injection, free speech and so much more. And rather than just passively sitting through a lecture on the intricacies of, say, drug sentencing guidelines, you will be able to take a more active role by participating in the famous (or perhaps, infamous) Fantasy Supreme Court League. That's right! During the presentation, you will compete with your fellow audience members by attempting to remember (or guess) the outcome of select cases and the margin of victory (the "vote spread") therein. Prizes are awarded to the highest scorers and a great time is had by all. Oh yeah, and you might actually learn something as well. "Usually talking about case law puts me to sleep. Sean's presentation not only kept me awake, it kept me laughing as well." "Outstanding! Sean makes the otherwise serious and austere character of the Supreme Court accessible through humor." "Sean, you were hysterical! Great analogies. You made the cases even more humorous than they already were." |

Each week, the legal news just keeps getting stranger and stranger. In fact, it gets difficult to keep up with who's suing who and which celebrities are going on trial. Fortunately, Sean Carter's job is to keep abreast of legal developments and report them to his fellow lawyers with humor ... and plenty of it. In this hilarious presentation, Mr. Carter explores some of the more outrageous aspects of the legal profession. Lawyers and legal staff persons alike will get a kick out of his commentary about:
"Carter had audiences laughing hysterically at two of our national client conferences. His original sense of humor adds a terrific dimension to an otherwise serious legal program." |
