A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE DISCIPLINARY HEARING
Let's face it. CLE programs on legal ethics can be as boring as ... as ... well, actually there is nothing quite that boring. Legal humorist Sean Carter hopes to change all of that with his program on the topic of legal ethics. Contrary to popular opinion, legal ethics isn't an oxymoron like jumbo shrimp, military intelligence, or happily married. The simple truth of the matter is that legal ethics is not much different from ethics in general. There are very basic things that lawyers must do (and not do) to avoid disciplinary problems. In this presentation, Mr. Carter delivers a "sermon" on the Ten Commandments of Avoiding Ethical Problems as a Lawyer. By the end of this sermon, Mr. Carter will have the audience murmuring "amen," shouting "hallelujah," and hopefully, passing around a collection plate. But most importantly, they will receive reinforcement to follow the golden rule of legal ethics -- don't take on a client with gold teeth. "Smart and very funny! Combines astute legal commentary with great situational comedy. Think Dennis Miller meets Chris Rock in a pot stewed by Johnny Cochran."
